The District Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested a man named Arafat on charges of stabbing Humayun Kabir, an on-duty medical technician at the Sherpur 250-bed District Sadar Hospital. Based on secret intelligence, he was apprehended on Saturday (September 5) night during a drive conducted in the Puratan Hospital Gate area of the district town.

According to police and eyewitness sources, Humayun Kabir came under attack on Thursday (September 3) while performing his duties at the hospital. Arafat allegedly assaulted and wounded him with a sharp weapon before fleeing the scene.

Law enforcement agencies launched an operation immediately after the incident to trace the suspect. On Sunday (September 6), the District Police Media Cell confirmed Arafat's arrest through a press release. Police stated that legal proceedings against the arrestee are currently underway at Sherpur Sadar Police Station.
