Alok Kumar Sarkar, Sub-Assistant Community Medical Officer at Rowmari Upazila Health Complex in Kurigram, has taken a humanitarian initiative to provide a one-time meal to poor and destitute individuals. He has taken charge of the initiative titled 'Ek Belar Ekmuthho Khabar' (A Handful of Food for a Meal). These food items were distributed across various spots in the upazila on Saturday night, September 6.

Alok Kumar Sarkar has long been rendering medical care with distinction in Rowmari. Beyond discharging his professional duties, his empathy, sincerity, and compassionate conduct toward patients have earned widespread acclaim from local residents.

He does not view this step to stand beside helpless people as an avenue for publicity. Rather, his primary objective is to alleviate the suffering of underprivileged individuals in society. By arranging a single meal for fellow human beings within his means, he has set a unique example of humanity.

Locals believe that this endeavor by Alok Kumar Sarkar will motivate others in society to stand beside distressed people. If affluent individuals step forward, ensuring at least one meal for the impoverished and destitute will become much easier, encouraging everyone to extend a helping hand according to their capacity, driven by the belief that humanity exists for one another.
