Experts have expressed deep concern over the deteriorating dengue situation across the country. According to data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), both dengue infections and fatalities are increasing significantly this month. Reviewing the situation, experts have warned that the outbreak could reach record-breaking peak levels in the final week of this September.

To tackle the situation, authorities have been urged to intensify mosquito eradication and cleanliness drives not only in the capital but also in regional areas.

Although city corporations and municipal authorities have increased fogging and larvicide spraying, public health specialists consider it insufficient. Emphasizing that there is no alternative to awareness in preventing dengue, doctors advise citizens to take greater responsibility in keeping their homes and surroundings clean. They also recommend consulting a doctor immediately upon the onset of a fever.
