Allegation of Forging Magistrate's Signature False and Baseless: Adv. Golam Azam
Advocate Md. Golam Azam, a lawyer of the Gaibandha District Judge Court, has held a press conference claiming that the allegation of forging a magistrate's signature is false, baseless, and fabricated. He also accused a vested quarter of spreading propaganda through social media and various other mediums to tarnish his professional and social reputation.
On Tuesday (September 8) around 10:00 PM, Advocate Golam Azam made these remarks in a written statement during an emergency press conference held at his own chamber in Nuniyapara mouza of Palashbari upazila, Gaibandha. In his statement, he mentioned that he has been practicing law with honesty and dedication for a long time. He stated that the allegation recently brought against him by Asaduzzaman from Maheshpur village regarding forging a magistrate's signature is entirely false, and it is intended to damage his professional reputation and social dignity.
Regarding the affidavit, he clarified that his role was solely that of an "identifier" who signed after verifying the concerned person's identity and documents in good faith, and he has no connection with the subsequent court proceedings or the contents of the affidavit. Expressing apprehension that political opponents might be trying to demean him due to his family's political background, he demanded a neutral investigation by the administration, law enforcement agencies, and relevant authorities to uncover the truth, welcoming legal action if any involvement is proven. He urged journalists to verify facts and avoid tarnishing his reputation based on one-sided statements.
