Prominent poet and journalist Faruk Wasif has been reappointed as the Director General (DG) of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) for an additional one-year term on a contractual basis.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued an official gazette notification on Monday (September 14) confirming the executive order.

According to the notification, the appointment was executed in accordance with the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) Act, 2018. Under the terms of the agreement, Wasif's tenure will extend for one year from his date of joining, contingent upon severing all other professional ties, business endeavors, or employment relationships with any government, semi-government, or private institutions and organizations.
