Motiur Rahman Sagar, the suspended Organizing Secretary of Naria Upazila BNP in Shariatpur, has demanded the withdrawal of his expulsion order, claiming his remarks were misinterpreted. During a press conference at Chikandi Food Park in Shariatpur town on Wednesday afternoon (October 7, 2026), Sagar explained that a video clip of his heated exchange with the Naria Police Station Officer-in-Charge had been selectively circulated on social media, omitting the full context.

The disciplinary action was earlier taken by the Shariatpur District BNP following an incident involving a banner burning, a local altercation, and an ensuing confrontation at the police station. Sagar urged the party leadership to conduct a neutral and fair investigation into the incident and reconsider the suspension order.
