BNP Protests Against Agitation by Banned Organization in Chatmohar
BNP leaders and activists bring out a protest rally in the Railbazar area of Chatmohar upazila, Pabna, on Tuesday afternoon

A protest rally and street meeting were held in Chatmohar, Pabna, protesting nationwide arson, anarchy, and destabilization attempts by the banned organization, the Awami League.

The program was organized by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Tuesday (October 7) afternoon in the Mulgram Union of the upazila, with active participation from leaders and activists of BNP and its associate organizations.

The protest rally originated from the Union BNP office near Chatmohar Railway Station, paraded through the main roads of the market, and concluded with a street meeting at the Railbazar intersection.

Chaired by the former President of Mulgram Union BNP, Likhon Biswas, the meeting was addressed by former Joint Convener of Upazila BNP Abdul Kuddus Alo Master, former Legal Affairs Secretary of Upazila BNP and former UP Chairman Gias Uddin, Upazila Krishak Dal President Liton Biswas, Upazila Shramik Dal President Muntaz Ahmed, former General Secretary of Mulgram Union BNP Abdul Kuddus Reza, former Vice-President of Union BNP Shawkat Akbar, and former Assistant Publicity Secretary of Upazila BNP Khokon Prodhan, among others.

Speaking at the rally, leaders warned activists of the banned organization: "We want to firmly warn Awami League leaders and activists—if you attempt any further audacity, you will have to bear full responsibility. Our activists will resist it on the ground. We do not wish to rely solely on the administration. The Awami League is spreading propaganda against this government, and a fitting response will be given. Leaders and activists must remain organized in their respective areas so that the Awami League cannot rise again. Furthermore, cohorts of the Awami League must be socially isolated so they do not dare speak out against this government."
