Speaking at an exchange meeting with journalists on Wednesday (September 23, 2026), Dr. Shafiqur Rahman emphasized that throwing files, creating chaos, or staging walkouts fail to solve public grievances. He stressed that Jamaat’s parliamentary approach will adhere strictly to ethics, law, and humanity, returning to the people whenever government cooperation falls short. He cited previous joint parliamentary initiatives—such as bipartisan committees formed to address fuel crises—as proof that constructive opposition engagement builds public trust.
Addressing national economic challenges, the Jamaat chief voiced deep concern over declining industrial production and diminishing ready-made garment (RMG) orders. He warned that industrial stagnation could trigger mass worker retrenchments, rising crime, and social distress. Additionally, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman pledged firm opposition to any proposed salary or allowance hikes for MPs, Ministers, the Prime Minister, or the President while citizens face economic hardship. He reaffirmed that Jamaat MPs will continue to reject state-allocated plots and tax-free vehicles, urging a transition from a ruling mindset to one of public service.
