Severe match-fixing allegations have rocked Indian domestic cricket after a sting operation exposed former Nagaland Ranji Trophy player Rachit Bhatia claiming he leaked Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team sheets to international bookies during IPL 2025.
In the sting operation conducted by a national news media outlet where an undercover journalist posed as a bookie, Bhatia confessed to obtaining CSK's playing XI well before the toss and selling the team sheets to London-based bookies via Snapchat for INR 60 lakh per match. Bhatia claimed to have sold information for five CSK matches during the 2025 season. He also admitted to spot-fixing during the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy by deliberately bowling two wide balls for INR 16 lakh. Furthermore, reports indicate that young cricketer Vansh Bedi allegedly acted as the insider leaking team information before playing in the Delhi Premier League.
In response to these explosive claims, the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has sought assistance from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and its Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) for a formal probe. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings management has called an urgent meeting ahead of their Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for September 25, 2026, to discuss the allegations and initiate internal investigations into potential information leaks.
