Towhid Hridoy Scores Heroic Maiden Test Century as Bangladesh Reach 205/7 at Lunch on Day 3
Sylhet International Cricket Stadium during the morning session of Day 3 in the 2nd Test.

Young middle-order batter Towhid Hridoy stood tall among the ruins of Bangladesh’s batting order to register a memorable maiden Test century on Day 3 of the second Test against West Indies at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, November 7, 2026.

Playing in just his third Test match, Hridoy reached the milestone off 171 balls, celebrating with his helmet resting on his bat handle. Following his record-breaking 350-run knock in South African first-class cricket in September, Hridoy carried Bangladesh on his shoulders as top-order wickets fell in quick succession around him.

By the lunch break on Day 3, Bangladesh had reached 205/7, crossing the 200-run milestone almost single-handedly due to Hridoy's brilliance. At the break, Hridoy remained unbeaten on **100* off 171 balls** (adorned with 11 boundaries and 1 six). Bangladesh's second-highest score in the innings remains Mushfiqur Rahim’s 34. The hosts currently trail the West Indies by 151 runs as they fight to avoid a series sweep following their defeat in the Mirpur Test.
