Towhid Hridoy Scores Maiden Test Fifty as Bangladesh Reach 148/5 Against West Indies on Day 3
Sylhet International Cricket Stadium host venue during the 1st Test between Bangladesh and West Indies.

Playing in just his third Test match, Towhid Hridoy registered his maiden Test half-century to provide a lone fightback for Bangladesh on Day 3 of the Sylhet Test against the West Indies on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Hridoy reached the milestone off 109 balls, earning a warm standing ovation from head coach Phil Simmons outside the dressing room.

Resuming Day 3 at 88/3 (Hridoy 29*, Mushfiqur 16*), Bangladesh sought to build on the overnight 4th-wicket stand. However, after extending the partnership to 73 runs, veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim (34) threw his wicket away by driving a flighted delivery from spinner Jomel Warrican round the wicket straight into the hands of Brandon King at short cover.

New batter Litton Das started aggressively with two quick boundaries but fell in identical fashion shortly after. Facing a full-length delivery outside off-stump from Warrican, Litton drove loosely to cover, handing another comfortable catch to Brandon King to depart for just 8 runs. Bangladesh slumped to 148/5, still trailing the Caribbean team by 206 runs, with Hridoy remaining unbeaten alongside Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
