
The central executive committee of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal has announced a partial committee for its Sherpur district branch. In the newly formed five-member committee, former district Juba Dal general secretary Md. Ataharul Islam Ata has been appointed as president, while former district Chhatra Dal president Md. Shawkat Hossain has been named general secretary. The other key leaders in the committee are Senior Vice President Mobinuzzaman Milton, Joint General Secretary Asaduzzaman Manik, and Organizing Secretary Hashem Ahmed Siddiqui Babu.
The committee was approved on Sunday (September 20) by Juba Dal Central Executive Committee President Abdul Monaem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan, MP. The appointment was confirmed via a press release signed by Central Juba Dal Joint General Secretary (in charge of office) Minhajul Islam Bhuiyan.
The press release directs the newly formed leadership to finalize a 101-member full-fledged committee for Sherpur district Juba Dal and submit it to the central office within the next 30 days.
Meanwhile, welcoming the new leadership, a massive celebratory procession and rally were organized in the district town on Sunday afternoon. Initiated by the district Juba Dal, the procession started from in front of the district BNP office at Raghunathbazar, marched through major thoroughfares, and concluded at the same venue.
A large number of leaders, activists, and supporters from thana, municipality, union, and ward levels participated in the rally. Sweets were distributed among the attendees upon the conclusion of the march.
Later, a brief rally was held at the district BNP office, where the newly appointed leaders delivered speeches. Expressing their commitment to keeping the Sherpur district Juba Dal united and free from internal factionalism and lobbying, the newly elected president and general secretary pledged that the district wing will play a pioneering role in public welfare and state development to build a new Bangladesh. They also vowed to maintain a strict stance against any form of terrorism and extortion while further organizing the party.
