The district police launched a massive simultaneous crackdown across all 18 police stations in Comilla, targeting industrial unrest instigators, members of banned organizations, teenage gangs, snatchers, and drug-related offenders.

The special drive was conducted from Monday (November 2) evening until midnight, resulting in the detention of 385 individuals.

Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Lutfor Rahman confirmed the details in a press briefing on Tuesday (November 3) morning.

During the drive, the District Detective Branch (DB) police arrested a primary suspect identified as Masud Rana (26), accused of inciting labor unrest in industrial factories. According to police claims, he was instigating workers' protests by making various posts on social media.

Police stated that areas frequented by teenage gangs and unruly young youths in Comilla city and various upazilas were brought under special surveillance during the operation. Senior police officials directly participated in the drive, which was executed through the coordination of all district police units and DB police.

The 385 detainees comprise drug dealers, drug abusers, snatchers, members of banned organizations, teenage gang members, and individuals facing warrants in various cases.

Police further mentioned that such regular drives are being conducted to keep young teenagers away from criminal activities. The district police's campaign to bring young students back to their study tables and build a safe city will continue, they stated, adding that strict vigilance is being maintained to ensure no innocent person is harassed.
