
Railway Police in Dinajpur have arrested five individuals for creating artificial congestion and stealing passengers' belongings during boarding and deboarding at the Parbatipur railway station.
The incident took place on Saturday on Platform Number 1 of the Parbatipur railway station as passengers boarded the Ekota Express.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Saiful Islam (59), son of the late Keramat Ali from Bhangni Dakshinpara, Mithapukur upazila, Rangpur; Suruj Mia (48), son of the late Suring Biswas from Adarshapara, Sadar upazila, Gaibandha; Liton Roy (30), son of Rashid Mia from Chakirpashar Taluk, Rajarhat upazila, Kurigram; Jahangir Alam (34), son of Kubbat Ali from Telipara Mekurtari, Rajarhat upazila; and Ruhul Amin (59), son of Kuti Mia from Fulshor Paschimpara, Narail Sadar.
Authorities recovered Tk 19,380 in cash and five mobile phones from their possession. A regular case has been filed against them at the Parbatipur GRP Police Station, and the accused were produced before the Dinajpur court on Sunday.
