Four people were killed and several others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Patuakhali Sadar upazila.

The accident occurred on Saturday night (September 19) at around 11:40 PM at the Dhalugazi intersection on the Patuakhali-Kuakata highway, involving an "Imran Paribahan" passenger bus and an auto-rickshaw.

Following the crash, locals and law enforcement rescued seven individuals from the wreckage and rushed them to the Patuakhali Government Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared three dead upon arrival and later pronounced a fourth person dead.

The deceased have been identified as Kaiyum Uddin (50), son of Razzaq Peda from Amkhola union in Galachipa upazila; Shilpi Rani (40), daughter of Anil Mistri from Galachipa; Miraj (35) from Haridebpur Bowbazar; and Tithi Rani (23), daughter of Dhiren Mistri from Bil-Bilas in Bauphal.

The injured—identified as Jahangir (40), Mili (35) from Bahalgachia, Patuakhali, and Shamsunnahar (60) from Tialkhali, Kalapara—are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Rescue operations were promptly conducted by law enforcement agencies at the scene.
