Family members and local residents staged a human chain and protest rally in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur, accusing Hafez Qari Md. Abdul Alim Ruhi of engaging in various immoral activities and torturing his own family members under the guise of running a madrasa.

The protest took place on Sunday morning (September 20) at the Royachala market area in Baganbari, located under Madhyapara union. During the human chain, speakers alleged that local residents are thoroughly exhausted by Abdul Alim’s unruly behavior, lifestyle, and suspicious activities. They specifically accused him of physically assaulting and torturing his own sister Morsheda, brother-in-law Momin, and sister-in-law Lipi Akhter, demanding a fair investigation and proper justice for these incidents.

Locals further alleged that Abdul Alim runs an institution named "Darul Akram Mohila Madrasa" in the Baganbari area, using the institution's name to collect donations from various sources and misappropriate the funds for personal use.
