Police have successfully unraveled the chilling murder mystery surrounding the death of Nazrul Islam—brother of local Union Parishad (UP) member Fazul Haque—whose body was recovered from a paddy field in Langaljora village under Mymensingh's Dhobaura Upazila.
According to police sources, the gruesome killing was executed by a woman following a domestic dispute. Investigations revealed that Nazrul Islam had an illicit affair with the wife of Shahidul Islam, a resident of Langaljora village in the upazila's Gamaritala union. On the night of the incident, Nazrul visited the woman's home, where they spent time together. However, a fierce altercation erupted between them over their intimate relationship. At the height of the argument, the woman struck Nazrul in the head with the blunt side of a spade (kodal).
Though severely wounded, Nazrul managed to leave the house and stumble toward the roadside, where he eventually collapsed and died inside a paddy field. Acting swiftly on leads, law enforcement arrested the female suspect, who subsequently confessed to the crime before a magistrate in court.
Dhobaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam confirmed the breakthrough, stating that the accused woman has already provided a detailed confessional statement in court admitting her role in the homicide.
