The Capital Development Authority (Rajuk) has conducted an eviction drive against the unauthorized housing project 'Dhaka Western Valley' located in the Bongaon area of Bongaon union, Savar, for operating without official approval.
The eviction operation, led by Rajuk Executive Magistrate Md. Sobuj Hasan, was carried out from Thursday morning until afternoon. During the drive, authorities demolished the project's site office, dredger pipes, and various promotional billboards.
Executive Magistrate Md. Sobuj Hasan stated that the project had long been selling plots to people through catchy advertisements without securing necessary approvals from Rajuk. Following the drive, all activities of the project have been halted, and stern legal action will be taken against those involved if unauthorized operations resume in the future.
According to local sources, Saifuddin Saifur, President of the Savar Upazila BNP, was responsible for overseeing the project. However, his immediate comments regarding the eviction could not be reached.
Local residents gathered at the scene during the operation and expressed satisfaction with Rajuk's action. Senior officials of Rajuk and members of the local police administration were also present during the drive.
