While the pass rate in the Alim examination across Chapainawabganj district has been somewhat sustained, a severe drought of merit has emerged. Out of thousands of examinees across 27 madrasahs in the entire district, only 2 madrasah students secured GPA-5. Moreover, both of these earned GPA-5s came from a single institution—Hefjul Madrasah in the district sadar. This information was confirmed by analyzing the results obtained from the Madrasah Education Board.
According to information, 5 examinees from the science department of Shonkorbati Hefjul Ulum Fayesa Khanom Kamil Madrasah successfully passed, among whom 2 students succeeded in achieving GPA-5. Along with another 17 examinees in the general department, a total of 22 students passed from the institution. The only two GPA-5s achieved in the entire Chapainawabganj district's Alim exam results came from this institution.
Expressing joy over such an achievement, the principal of the institution, Maulana Abdul Khaleq, said, "Only two students among all madrasah students in the entire district got GPA-5. Both of these students belong to my institution. I am very happy. We expected even better results from the institution, but it didn't happen. Hopefully, we will do better in the future."
On the other hand, not a single examinee from the remaining 26 madrasahs in the district managed to secure a GPA-5. Institutional results show that while Chapainawabganj Kamil Madrasah had 42 pass (pass rate 73.68%), Kansat Saifuddin Memorial Fazil Madrasah had 36 pass (pass rate 72.00%), and Shibganj Kamil Madrasah had 41 pass (pass rate 57.75%), the top positions on their merit lists remained empty.

At Jhaljalia Islamic Social Welfare Alim Madrasah in the district sadar, 9 out of 10 examinees failed, bringing the pass rate down to a mere 10 percent. Additionally, pass rates were recorded at 16 percent at Bordhai Chandpur Bailka Para Alim Madrasah, 16.67 percent at Telkupi Kolomdar Alim Madrasah, 17.24 percent at Goalbari Darul Ulum Fazil Madrasah, and 19.23 percent at Khale Alampur Darus Sunnat Alim Madrasah.
When asked about the overall examination, Chapainawabganj Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Shahin Sultana said, "This year, students across the entire country failed to achieve satisfactory results, and Chapainawabganj district is no exception."
She further stated, "We will deeply review the results of the past few years and identify where the gaps lie. Finding those gaps and taking necessary measures accordingly will hopefully enable us to do much better in the future."
