A view-exchange meeting was organized by the Haldia Union BNP in Sadullapur Upazila of Gaibandha aimed at selecting and evaluating prospective chairman candidates ahead of the upcoming Union Parishad elections.
The meeting was held on Tuesday afternoon (September 15) at the Haldia Dakhil Madrasa field. Haldia Union BNP President Omar Ali Sarker presided over the event, which was conducted by Ghuridaha Union BNP Organizing Secretary Sirajul Islam. Sadullapur Upazila BNP Convener Alhaj Mohammad Ali attended as the chief guest.
Special guests included Upazila BNP Member Secretary Selim Ahmed Tulip and Upazila BNP Joint Convener Alauddin Mondal.
Other speakers at the meeting included Haldia Union BNP General Secretary A. Momin Mondal, former president A. Kashem Master, organizing secretary Mozammel, Upazila Jubo League Joint Conveners Jahangir Alam Jewel and Anisur Rahman, and Union BNP Joint General Secretary Abu Bakkar Siddique, among others.
Addressing the candidate nomination process, upazila leaders stated that the overall popularity and grassroots acceptability of prospective candidates will be thoroughly scrutinized. The final candidate's name will subsequently be officially announced through the upazila committee.
According to party sources, Haldia Union BNP President Omar Ali Sarker currently leads grassroots discussions and field surveys as the prospective chairman candidate.
