A Dhaka court has placed 19-year-old suspect Jerika Tasnim Disha on a four-day police remand for questioning in connection with the murder of former Bangladesh Air Force Flight Lieutenant Tahsif Sauri.
The order was passed on Sunday afternoon, November 1, 2026, by Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ripon Hossain following a hearing on a seven-day remand application filed by investigating officer Inspector (Unarmed) Firoz Uddin of the Tongi Naval Police Outpost. Prosecution lawyer Shamsuddoha Suman argued before the court that custodial interrogation was vital for unraveling the murder plot. Jerika was brought to court under strict police guard at 3:50 PM following her arrest from the Kafrul area, which was executed based on CCTV footage and digital tracking.

The prosecution emphasized that intensive interrogation of Jerika is necessary to identify the exact crime scene, recover evidence, track down unidentified accomplices, and cross-check her testimony against statements provided by co-accused Ahmed Shahriar Reza Deep, who was previously remanded. Although defense attorneys argued that Jerika merely shared a friendly outing and requested bail, the court rejected the bail prayer and approved a 4-day custodial interrogation.
