Acclaimed director Vicky Zahed, renowned for his suspenseful thriller narratives, has announced his latest web series titled Pranbhomra, inspired by traditional Bengali folklore. The series will feature popular actor Tawsif Mahbub alongside newcomer Shreyosi Shreya in lead roles and will premiere on Channel i's OTT platform, iScreen.
The announcement was made during a press conference held at Channel i's premises on Wednesday (September 23, 2026). Impress Telefilm and Channel i Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar, director Vicky Zahed, Tawsif Mahbub, and Shreyosi Shreya attended the event. Exploring themes of love, memory, and existential emotion, the narrative delves into whether human feelings and past connections can transcend physical existence. Director Vicky Zahed expressed gratitude to Channel i for backing experimental stories, noting that pairing Tawsif with a fresh face was a deliberate casting choice aimed at providing opportunities to new talent. Filming for Pranbhomra is scheduled to commence in October 2026.
