A 45-year-old battery-powered van driver named Rafiqul Islam died after his vehicle lost control and overturned in the Joy Kali Mandir area under Wari Police Station in Dhaka on Monday morning (September 21).
Police and local sources reported that the incident occurred around 7:00 AM when the speeding van lost control, causing the vehicle to flip over and pin the driver beneath it.
Wari Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Shamim Reza stated that officers responded to the scene upon receiving reports of the accident and rushed the critically injured driver to the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where attending doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The deceased originally hailed from Mymensingh district and resided with his family in the Amtala area of Moghbazar in Dhaka.
