Natural gas supply conditions across Bangladesh have begun returning to normalcy as increased imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) help alleviate the acute shortages that recently plagued industrial, commercial, and residential consumers.

According to energy sector updates, total daily gas supply recently ticked up to around 2,610 million cubic feet (mmcfd), driven by approximately 1,620 mmcfd from domestic gas fields and 990 mmcfd from imported LNG sources. While the short-term recovery has brought immense relief to power plants, compressed natural gas (CNG) stations, and household users, energy experts emphasize that sustained domestic production and steady LNG imports remain crucial for bridging the country's broader structural supply gap.
