Minister for Water Resources Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee stated that strict political and administrative measures will be taken to counter attempts by the banned Awami League to create social instability through sudden flash processions.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday (September 23, 2026) following a special exchange meeting on law and order at the Chattogram Circuit House, the Minister reaffirmed the government's zero-tolerance policy against unauthorized political gatherings. He emphasized that as a banned organization, any attempt by Awami League activists to disrupt public order or stage flash rallies across urban centers will be met with decisive law enforcement and administrative action.
Addressing the law and order situation in Chattogram, Minister Anee outlined priority drives to recover illegal firearms, eradicate drug syndicates, and halt illegal hill cutting. He assured that the government is implementing stern measures to safeguard public life and maintain steady regional development activities in Chattogram. Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain along with Members of Parliament Sarwar Jamal Nizam, Ershad Ullah, and Said Al Noman were also present at the meeting.
