The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has fixed the medical examination fee for Bangladeshi workers intending to join jobs in Malaysia at BDT 8,000 per person.

In an official press release issued on Saturday, October 31, 2026, the Ministry emphasized that taking more than the prescribed BDT 8,000 for medical screening is strictly prohibited. Aspiring migrant workers are strongly advised not to pay any excess money or engage with third-party brokers and middlemen. The Ministry also clarified that no fees are required for issuing the MiGRAMS slip.

Under the new regulatory directives, medical centers are forbidden from operating exclusively under specific recruiting agencies. Selected workers are free to complete their health examinations at any authorized medical center of their choice. Furthermore, if a worker decides to switch recruiting agencies after a medical slip is generated, the original agency must transfer the medical report without delay or objection. Overcharging, harassment, or administrative delays can be reported directly to the ministry via email ([email protected]). Regular monitoring and surprise audits will be conducted, with strict legal action promised against non-compliant medical centers.
