Prime Minister's Adviser on Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, has stated that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) did not impose any conditions regarding the recent increase in fuel prices. He made this remark on Tuesday (September 22) during a briefing at the Secretariat regarding the progress of various government activities. In response to a query about the fuel price hike, Dr. Zahed clarified that there are no such directives or conditions from the IMF.
Regarding Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's upcoming visit to New York, he mentioned that a deal regarding the purchase of Boeing aircraft could potentially take place. However, he noted that he lacks specific information on whether any official meetings with Boeing are officially scheduled during the tour. "I do not have that specific information with me. But Bangladesh purchasing Boeing is already published news, so such an agreement might happen. Based on official information so far, this is all we know," he added.
