The education boards of Bangladesh are finalizing preparations to administer supplementary examinations for students who failed in one or two subjects in the 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations. Dhaka Education Board Chairman and President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, Professor Syed Akhteruzzaman, confirmed that final dates were settled on Tuesday and an official detailed notification is scheduled for release today, Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
According to preliminary board plans, the supplementary examinations will begin on December 2, 2026, with results targeted for publication by December 31, 2026, to prevent students from suffering a lost academic year. While candidates failing in more than two subjects remain ineligible, a significant concession has been granted to students who failed in the 2024 and 2025 HSC exams: they will be allowed to participate provided they hold valid registration or examinee status for the 2026 HSC exams.
