The dengue situation continues to pose a severe public health concern as six more people died from the mosquito-borne disease across Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, while 1,593 new patients were admitted to hospitals. According to a regular press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the latest fatalities include two deaths each in the Chattogram and Khulna divisions, alongside one death each in Barishal and Dhaka. With these recent numbers, the total death toll from dengue this year has reached 184, with cumulative hospital admissions climbing to 61,972. Health authorities have reiterated calls for intensified cleanliness drives and public awareness to destroy mosquito breeding grounds.
