Prime Minister's Political Assistant Rashed Khan Tears Up 'Daily Amar Desh' Copy in Live Facebook Video
Political Assistant to the Prime Minister Rashed Khan addressing viewers during his Facebook live session.

Rashed Khan, Political Assistant to the Prime Minister, publicly tore up a copy of the national daily 'Daily Amar Desh' during a live Facebook video broadcast late Saturday night, October 31, 2026.

In the video, an agitated Rashed expressed severe outrage over recent reports published in the newspaper, alleging that the publication carried deliberate character assassinations and misleading narratives against him. He specifically targeted an October 15 lead article titled "What are the Prime Minister's Advisors and Assistants Doing?" and an October 31 report headlined "Hasina's Son Joy and Some Neo-BNP Unite", which linked him to political realignments and attempted to label him through association. Rashed argued that despite his personal respect for Amar Desh editor Mahmudur Rahman—who also suffered persecution during the past Awami League regime—the newspaper crossed ethical boundaries by targeting him with cynical remarks.

Furthermore, Rashed linked the criticism to his recent public claims accusing Jamaat-e-Islami's second-in-command, Mia Golam Parwar, of meeting with high- уровня Indian intelligence officials. He reiterated his challenge to Jamaat leadership to disprove his claims legally or through internal probes, maintaining that he endured brutal torture and remand during the 2018 quota reform movement and rejects any attempt to question his political integrity.
