We Will Return Home Only After Securing People's Demands: Jamaat Amir & Opposition Leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman
Opposition Leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman addressing the closing rally of the 11-Party Alliance long march in Kushtia.

Leader of the Opposition and Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman declared that opposition parties will not retreat from the streets until the public's rightful demands are fully realized by the government.

Addressing the grand finale rally of the 11-Party Alliance’s Dhaka-Khulna-Kushtia Long March at the Shaheed Abrar Fahad Stadium in Kushtia late Saturday night, October 31, 2026, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman emphasized that the coalition’s 7-point mandate represents the collective voice of the masses rather than partisan interests. "Our demands are not party-specific; they belong to the general public. Accept these demands—we will return home only after securing the people's rights. It is for the nation and its people that we have taken to the streets," he stated.

Presided over by Kushtia District Jamaat Amir Principal Khondokar A.K. Ali Mohsin, the midnight rally brought together high-profile opposition figures, including Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Amir Maulana Mamunul Haq, Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, JAGPA Vice President Eng. Rashed Pradhan, NCP leader Hannan Masud, DUCSU VP Sadik Kayem and GS Farhad, as well as Kushtia-3 MP Mufti Amir Hamza. Dr. Shafiqur Rahman called for a non-partisan national unity to establish a humane, discrimination-free Bangladesh, hinting that the alliance is prepared to mobilize a nationwide march towards Dhaka if the government fails to fulfill the 7-point demands.
