GAZIPUR — The second phase of Bishwa Ijtema concluded on the banks of the Turag yesterday with the akheri munajat, as millions of devotees prayed for peace, forgiveness and the welfare of the nation.

Special trains and buses ferried pilgrims while volunteers distributed food and water through the night.

Scholars from dozens of countries addressed the gathering on faith, family and community service.
