DHAKA — The police cyber unit resolved more than 7,000 cases in the past year — triple its previous record — after three regional forensic labs cut evidence processing from months to days.

Mobile banking fraud and social media impersonation topped the caseload, with recovery of Tk 22 crore returned to victims.

Officials urged citizens to report within 24 hours, when fund-freezing has the highest success rate.
