The Special Response Battalion (SRB)-10 recovered 20 rounds of abandoned 12-bore live shotgun cartridges during an operational drive in the Jhilmil Residential Area under South Keraniganj.
According to police sources, an operational team from the CPSC, Lalbagh Camp of SRB-10 launched a targeted raid in Jhilmil Residential Area at approximately 10:00 PM on Tuesday (September 22, 2026) following intelligence leads. During the raid, officers discovered the 12-bore live cartridges left abandoned in the area.
Assistant Director (Media) of SRB-10 and Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Tapan Sarkar stated that the drive was originally initiated as an anti-narcotics operation based on secret information. He emphasized that SRB remains committed to maintaining national security, public safety, and preventing sabotage through regular intelligence-led drives against illegal arms stockpiles, transit, and usage.
