The strategic discussion focused on preparing trained Town Defense Party (TDP) volunteers for rapid deployment during sudden urban crises, including earthquakes and fire hazards across Dhaka's ward, zone, and upazila levels. The initiative follows earlier discussions between the Ansar & VDP Director General and Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Asadul Habib Dulu, MP, highlighting the potential of the volunteer structure. Under the proposed framework, 100,000 TDP volunteer members included in the digital database will receive basic and specialized training to serve as first responders for search and rescue operations, relief distribution, and humanitarian assistance. Both chiefs emphasized joint cooperation, tactical information sharing, and professional capacity building to mitigate disaster risks and ensure public safety during national crises.
