The first convocation ceremony of Pabna Science and Technology University (PUST) is going to be held in March next year. The tentative date has been fixed for March 15 or 16. This potential date has been finalized through discussions between the President's Office and the PUST administration.
President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called for special emphasis on imparting technology, engineering, and technical education suited for employment both at home and abroad. He made this call on Tuesday (September 22) afternoon at Bangabhaban when a delegation led by PUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abul Hasnat Md. Shamim paid a courtesy call on the President.
During the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abul Hasnat Md. Shamim, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, and Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Shamim Ahsan met with President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Discussions were also held with the President regarding acquiring an additional 45 acres of land for the university—which currently spans 30 acres with 21 departments under 5 faculties—and introducing job-market-driven subjects. Furthermore, they held extensive discussions regarding the university's education, research, and development.
