Ambassador of the Russian Federation Alexander Grigoryevich Khozin paid a courtesy call on Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir at the Police Headquarters on Tuesday (September 22, 2026).
According to an official press release issued by Police Headquarters, Ambassador Khozin expressed satisfaction with the security provided to Russian personnel stationed at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant as well as the operations of the Diplomatic Security Division, extending his gratitude to the IGP. He conveyed Russia's keen interest in strengthening mutual cooperation to enhance the operational capabilities of Bangladesh Police.
IGP Ali Hossain Fakir welcomed the Russian ambassador's proposal, emphasizing the importance of regular high-level dialogues, sharing best practices, and exchanging vital information between the police leadership of both nations. The police chief requested Russian technical assistance and higher education/training opportunities for Bangladeshi officers in specialized areas, including cybersecurity, infrastructure capacity-building for the Central Police Hospital, and advanced security management. Senior officers from Bangladesh Police were also present during the meeting.
