A 15-year-old construction worker named Niham died after being electrocuted while performing sanitary work at an under-construction building in the Aftabnagar area under Badda Police Station in Dhaka on Monday morning (September 21).
The accident occurred around 11:00 AM on the eighth floor of the building. Co-workers found the teenager unconscious following the electric shock and immediately rushed him to the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where attending doctors declared him dead upon arrival around midday.
The deceased was the son of Chan Mia Gazi, hailing from Uttor Nanupur Miyaji Bari village in Chandpur Sadar Upazila, and resided with his family near the Passport Office in F-Block, Aftabnagar. DMCH Police Outpost In-Charge Inspector Md. Habibuka Rahman stated that the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy and the concerned police station has been informed.
