Patients seeking treatment at the 50-bed Betagi Upazila Hospital have raised complaints about facing various complications. Patients and their relatives expressed fear of spreading infections because patients with different types of illnesses are kept side by side in the same building. Specifically, patients admitted with common weather-related illnesses are forced to stay under the same roof as those suffering from complex and fatal diseases.

Patients and relatives stated that due to the lack of separate rooms or adequate isolation facilities for various diseases, panic regarding new infections is growing among the incoming patients, raising concerns about the normal healthcare environment. Locals complain that although it is a 50-bed hospital, most activities have long been conducted in a single two-story building, which they claim is inadequate considering the hospital's scope and patient volume.

Although initiatives were taken to construct a new building next to the hospital, there has been little visible progress in construction for a long time, raising questions about when the new infrastructure will open and patients will receive treatment in an improved environment. Meanwhile, hospital authorities stated that previous contractors could not complete the construction work due to financial crises, and the government has subsequently issued a re-tender for rebuilding the structure, with work expected to move forward after appointing a new contractor.

Additionally, questions have been raised at various times regarding the quality of food supplied to patients, with a few patients and relatives expressing dissatisfaction over the nutritional value and quality of meals. They demand that authorities take effective steps to ensure necessary isolation facilities, advance the new building's construction visibly, and guarantee quality food alongside treatment.
