A low-pressure area has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas. Under its influence, the Bay of Bengal near Kuakata, Patuakhali, is quite rough, with large waves crashing against the seashore. Meanwhile, the coastal sky remains heavily clouded, and intermittent light to moderate rainfall has been occurring in various parts of the district since Thursday morning, accompanied by an increase in wind pressure. Gusty or squally winds may sweep over coastal areas due to the low pressure. Consequently, the maritime ports of Payra, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, and Mongla in Patuakhali have been advised to hoist local warning signal number 3. All fishing trawlers have been instructed to stay close to the coast and operate cautiously until further notice.
