The Bangladesh Nationalist Student Front (Chhatra Dal) has strongly condemned and protested the inclusion of historical photographs of Pakistan's founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah inside the newly renovated Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) museum.
In an official statement signed by Office Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam, Chhatra Dal termed the exhibition a direct affront to the glorious heritage of the Bengali language movement and the liberation war. The student organization recalled that Jinnah’s notorious proclamation in 1948 attempting to declare Urdu as the sole state language sparked immediate resistance from conscious students of Dhaka University.
Arguing that the sacred premises of DUCSU—the heartland of the nation's democratic struggles—should not be used to propagate partisan or controversial historical figures,
Chhatra Dal leaders demanded the immediate removal of the portraits. The controversy has ignited a broader debate among student bodies regarding the historical curation and ideological representation within campus spaces.
